On the 21st August this year, the Weymouth and District Wildfowling Association, with their families, gave up their time to litter pick part of the West Fleet. The West Fleet is a sensitive area so the timing of such activities is crucial. The end of August and September is a good time as the summer breeding birds have finished for the year and the winter waterfowl have not yet arrived. The group split into two parties and covered a large area in quite a short space of time, managing to pick a good amount of litter. Thankfully, on the landside of the Fleet, there was not much litter to pick up, which is reassuring to see.
We thank the group and their families for the effort on this day.
