On Friday 18th September 2020, a White Stork dropped in to the outlying fields of Abbotsbury Swannery. There have been fly overs in the past, including a flock of 21, but this is the first to stop in.
This individual is a ringed bird, coming from the Knepp White Stork Project and is nicknamed “Doris”. It has been sighted along the South Coast in recent weeks and was kind enough to pay us a visit.
