These Red-breasted Mergansers (Mergus serrator) had obviously found a good spot for fishing. The gulls were looking eagerly on for the opportunity to steal a fish or two, while the Little Egret was following with interest.
Red-breasted Merganser are a fish eating, diving duck. They over winter in the Fleet and Portland Harbour and during this time can be seen regularly. The video shows both male and female feeding in the shallows of Fleet.
